Definition

A summary table that groups data by the values in one or more fields, places them as rows and columns, and totals a measure at each crossing.

Example

Raket Parts B.V. invoiced revenue by customer segment and quarter, 2025:
Industrial: Q1 €1,130,254, Q2 €1,562,016, Q3 €1,323,844
Rocket builder: Q1 €8,493,091, Q2 €15,896,785, Q3 €14,271,954
University: Q1 €3,787,496, Q2 €3,616,667, Q3 €2,883,426
Twelve thousand invoice rows become nine numbers, and the pattern is clear: six rocket builder customers bring most of the revenue.

Raket Parts B.V. is a fictional company created for Insyt.
